Let’s be honest!

I don’t mean fake honest, I mean real!

Not the standard ‘I’m fine’ line that we all pull out when someone asks us how our business is going.

The wild and untamed version, the one that keeps you awake at night because your brain won’t switch off.

A gazillion things turbulently swirling around with a relentless energy that you just can’t keep up with.

The gut-wrenching, stomach-churning kind of honest that is rarely spoken about or admitted to.

Because we’re all ‘fine’.

The worrisome days spent frantically searching for new clients.

The never-ending pitching to sell more products.

The tear your hair out times when a piece of tech or a system or process just won’t do what you want it to do.

The pressure you put on yourself to achieve so much.

The nerve-wracking feeling at the bottom of it all that you’re somehow just not good enough.

The disbelief in yourself that even if you manage to pull it all off you don’t deserve to be successful.

The not knowing who to turn to when you need help.

The feeling that there’s so much you need to know, but you are unsure of who to listen to for advice.

All the things that, if we are all brutally honest, we have all experienced at some point in our course of running a business, even if only very fleetingly.

There is so much to do as a business owner, so many things to learn about, so much stuff that you’ve most likely never even considered before.

You just want to do whatever it is that you do, you can’t get your head around everything that is involved in the actual running of a business.

The marketing, the social media, the accounts, the admin, the email marketing, the networking, the meetings, the tech, websites, landing pages, graphic design, creating content, keywords and SEO, backlinks, lead magnets, webinars, contracts, invoices, systems and processes, managing your time, customer care, getting reviews, connecting with new people, sales funnels, digital marketing, chatbots, the list is quite simply endless!

All you want to do is the thing that you love doing, to share the gift you have to offer and make some money while you’re doing it.

Yet there’s all this other stuff to consider that you probably didn’t even realise existed!

Even if you are in the fortunate position to be able to outsource all these different elements, you still need to have an excellent grasp of the fundamentals, otherwise, how will you know if what you’re getting other people to do for you is correct?

The life of an entrepreneur, a sole trader, a small business owner is not for the faint of heart and it can often feel overwhelmingly daunting when the full weight of running a business is upon your shoulders.

This is what you need to have an outlet for, a support system for, a way of navigating through the minefield of information that you need to consume.

And there is a lot! There are experts, and there are ‘experts’, all willing to sell their products and services to you, some inexpensively, some that you need to sell a kidney for.

How do you establish what is worth the investment of your time and money, and what should be avoided at all costs?
You have enough to think about every day without then considering where to turn to for quality information, support and advice.

Unfortunately, it happens all too often. You’re desperately in need of help, someone promises you they can deliver, yet all they do is take your money with very little in return.

These are some of the reasons why we say, ‘I’m fine’ when sometimes what we want to scream is ‘help me’.

It’s a bit of an overused cliché, but ‘finding your tribe’ is so important in the business world and it can make such an enormous difference on a personal level as to how you feel about your business.

We are all capable of achieving so much and through collaboration with other like-minded people, even more, opportunities become available to us.

I created The WOW Web Network to support business owners through the highs and lows of the pandemic, at a time when everyone was feeling the effects in some way, be it personally or in business.

Since its launch, WOW has evolved very quickly as I was taken by surprise by how popular it became. I have seen the creation of a supportive network of business owners who have developed strong business and personal relationships.

Seeing people forming those bonds, helping each other out and doing business together has been a wonderful part of this journey.

I myself have developed connections with people who have become important features in my life.

I have increased my skill set and knowledge and supporting others to do the same within their business is an area which I am incredibly passionate about.

I especially love to support those in the early days of their own business journey, sharing what I have learnt and helping them to set up their own new business.

It’s kind of my happy place and I often find more enjoyment in helping other people than I do in my achieving my own plans.
In fact, I love it so much, I have just completed an intense training course to become a Certified Entrepreneurship Business Life Coach to further enhance the support which I can give.

I get immense joy from seeing others succeed and reach their own personal goals.

As business owners, there are so many factors to think about, so many areas that you suddenly need to become an expert in.

Each month we will work through a course together, as voted for by the participants. A group coaching session on Zoom at the beginning of the month will take place where we will go through the chosen topic. You’ll have an accountability buddy to help keep you on track and there will be chat and email support available throughout the month, along with Facebook lives to answer questions that come up. In addition, you’ll also have the opportunity to have a focus session to address any issues.
